The following text appears below a painting at the foot of the eastern spiral staircase at the base of the Helix Halls, Achelia's new government building.
Artist: Ruth Moutinho Date: 1284 GC
Description: Depicted here is Trewe Flotte, a native to Achelia and an instrumental member of the CHRONOS project. Through his joint efforts with Micah Illumine, Achelia was saved from its destruction in several alternate timelines, and was instead transformed into the beautiful haven it is today. The artist claimed to have met with Flotte shortly before painting this picture, and remarked upon both his kindness and his incredible humility. Trewe Flotte has since remained on Achelia, as both a renowned inventor and a beloved explorer.
Halfcourt's log. Day one. I was recently contacted by Trewe Flotte, one of the former members of the CHRONOS Project, asking for my assistance in organising yearly reunions of the project's members, as an opportunity to catch up with one another, and remind ourselves of everything we achieved aboard the Prometheus. Today was the first such re-union. Only six people showed up: myself, Mr Flotte, Dr Dragomir, Nix Ralone, Tamika Li, and Aphra Clayborne. However, I think such a small group was rather nice; Trewe was an excellent host, and it was nice to talk to Aphra Clayborne as a fellow Cheimeron. Everyone agreed that it was nice to see each other after so long, and to swap stories about all that we'd been up to - Trewe has said that he'll be organising one for next year, and suggested to me that I might want to start a diary to record the re-unions. I have to admit, it has all been a rather calming experience.
The camera pans across the Palladium Peaks, a range of small, craggy mountains on the outskirts of the rebuilt (and renamed) New Palladium City. As the shot drifts away from the urban sprawl and into the breathtaking vistas that surround it, the voice-over continues.
'But here, hidden amongst the soaring summits and ancient valleys, we find what is perhaps Achelia's hidden gem. Tucked away within the Palladium Peaks National Park is a smaller, quieter area, itself designated an area of outstanding natural beauty.'
The shot changes to a small mountain, with two channels running down it, mirror images of one another; one completely dried up, the other graced by a constant stream of fresh, crystal-clear water. The two channels arc and curve down the mountainside, stretching on for miles, and a pair of climbers can be seen between them, awestruck by the sight that nature has given them.
'Here, on the banks of the Echo River, peace and quiet reign. Sadly, the Echo River park ranger could not be reached for comment; he is currently believed to be on an expedition up Mount Goldenback.'
