I imagine you're wondering why you're receiving this message. The answer is simple: because you are a person of extraordinary talents, and the galaxy needs you.
I don't need to tell you about the explosion of the GSS Ananke. You've lived in this galaxy for the past two decades. It's impossible to escape the effects of that conference: the arms deals, the treaties, the assassination. The final explosion. You have witnessed the war which tore our galaxy apart in the twenty years that followed.
But what if we could change that? What if we could go back and rewrite history? What was once an impossible dream has now become concrete possibility, and that's where you come in. Welcome to CHRONOS.
– From a message sent out by Azalea Okeke, acting head of the GSP
CHRONOS is the Oxford University RPG Society's Society Game for Trinity 2019. Players live in a dystopian cosmos, their planets devastated by a twenty-year war. They form an elite group who have been recruited by the mysterious CHRONOS organisation, a group of rogue scientists who claim to have unlocked the secret to time travel…
The game will focus on solving the big puzzle that is cause and effect, as a small group of people battle against fate to make the universe a better place. Despite the (initially!) dystopian setting, the game is generally designed to have an optimistic tone, with a focus on how any individual can make a difference.
New to roleplaying? Welcome! We recommend you start with the introduction page. Alternatively, if you just want to dive right in, details of the system and setting can be found in the sidebar (desktop) or drop-down menu (mobile).
As CHRONOS will have a maximum player cap of 25, we are inviting people to submit an expression of interest form, found here. This only asks for your name, email address and whether you're a current student. If you are interested in playing, please fill the form in by 23:59 on Sunday 21st April. We will use a random number generator to determine spaces, giving priority to current students, and inform you of the outcome by Monday 22nd.
If you have a space, hooray! Please submit a character by 23:59 on Friday 26th April by emailing us at gm@chronos.chaosdeathfish.com. If you haven't, we're super sorry, but don't lose heart! There are still lots of exciting RPG things going on this term - keep an eye on the mailing list for more information.
Sessions run Tuesdays 19:30-22:00, location TBC. The first session will be Tuesday 30th April (first week). The last session will be on Tuesday 11th June, or Tuesday of seventh week, with a debrief on Tuesday 18th.
